About Posters in the Rotunda
Posters in the Rotunda is a statewide initiative in which 24 undergraduates from the eight public universities share the results of their research and creative activities at a poster session in the State Capitol in Jackson. First held in 2016, the event provides opportunities for legislators to visit with students from their districts, allows students to network with each other as they learn about work on other campuses, and most importantly brings recognition about the cutting edge research being done by undergraduates that benefits the residents of Mississippi. Posters in the Rotunda is fashioned after Posters on the Hill, sponsored by the Council for Undergraduate Research, and held at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC. Similar events are also held in seventeen other states, including Kentucky, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
